The winners Mikaela \u00c5hlen, data scientist and Christian von Koch, Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Elvenite.<\/p><\/div>\r\n

During the fall of 2024, we collaborated with Skellefte\u00e5 Kraft to find a solution that could provide them with a better and more quality-assured overview of the biomass at their combined heat and power plants. The goal was to transition from the current partially manual processes to a more digital system.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

On December 11\u201312 2024, the event was hosted at Skellefte\u00e5 Kraft, where eight selected teams developed their ideas alongside mentors from various fields of expertise. After the teams pitched their solutions, Skellefte\u00e5 Kraft named Elvenite as the winner.<\/p>\r\n

Elvenite will utilize the data that Skellefte\u00e5 Kraft already has to create efficient models capable of generating accurate forecasts. They will then identify additional data needed to make these forecasts even more precise.<\/p>\r\n

Skellefte\u00e5 Kraft hackathon is part of the international BioBoosters project, led by Jamk University of Applied Sciences and co-funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme. The project brings together nine innovation networks in the bioeconomy sector from countries around the Baltic Sea: Finland, Sweden, the Baltic States, Poland, and Germany. The project organizes 18 Hackathons to support responsible business practices and the transition to a circular economy for bioeconomy companies.<\/em><\/p>\r\n
